The Worst Premier League Managers Ever

Over the years we have celebrated the best football managers in the premier league. From Sir Alex Ferguson to Arsene Wenger the premier league has given the world some of the best football managers on the planet.

Some managers are sat at the other end of the scale, with the worst records in the premier league. Check out some of the biggest manager flops below.

John Carver – Newcastle

John Carver came in as caretaker manager of Newcastle in 2015. In 19 Premier League matches he lost 12 with an amazing 8 losses in a row. His best quote after only taking 9 points from 16 games was “I still think I’m the best coach in the premier league”. John, sorry you weren’t

Frank de Boer – Crystal palace

He wasn’t given much of a chance at palace but his reign was an awful one. De Boer played four, lost four with 0 goals scored and 7 goals against.

Terry Connor – Wolves

Terry Conner was pushed into a position well above his abilities. His first game against Newcastle saw Wolves pull back from 2 nil down to 2-2. From then it was all downhill. In 13 premier league matches Connor won 0 games

Remi Garde – Aston Villa

His reign was short but legendary. In 20 matches Aston Villa won 2, lost 12 with 6 draws. Only scoring 12 goals with 38 against. It was arguably Villa’s worst season ever.

Paul Jewell –  Derby County

It’s hard for any manager to lose lots of games but a 0% win ratio over 24 matches is statistically difficult to achieve. With 19 losses and 6 draws it’s surprising he lasted as long as he did.

Steve Wigley – Southampton

Southampton are now one of the premiers leagues consistent teams but under Wigley they were one of the worst sides the premier league had ever seen. Wigley managed Southampton for 16 Premier League games winning only one match.

Alan Pardew – West Brom

Alan Pardew’s stint as West Brom manager was short and painful. Over 18 matches Pardew managed 1 win, 12 losses and 3 draws.

John Gorman – Swindon Town

How he lasted so long is a miracle. John Gorman managed only 5 wins over 42 matches in charge at Swindon. His leaky defence let in 100 goals during his time as manager.
