Essential Quality, Capo Kane Headlines Week 2 Kentucky Derby Future Wager

America’s “Greatest Sports In Two Minutes” is now back on track after a forced rescheduling last September 2020. The Kentucky Derby, under the supervision of the newest track President, Mike Anderson, will begin on April 30-May 1, 2021, highlighting another batch of three-year-old colts working in the dirt track.

Called the “Run For The Roses,” the Kentucky Derby is one of America’s grandest horse racing competitions. It is the first jewel of the U.S. Triple Crown Series, which was last won in 2018 via Justify. Aside from that, the Derby road is quite tough since hopefuls need to pass the Derby trails and gain enough points to earn their berth.

While it’s still early to get the list of entries that will run in the upcoming Derby, sportsbooks are slowly opening Future Wager as a potential favorite to win this year’s Derby. Below are the Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 2 that you can bet from January 22-24, 2021.

Concert Tour (15/1)

Highly Motivated has his first workout in the Maiden Special Weight at Belmont Park. Apart from that, he got his first title at the Nyquist Stakes last November.

Hot Rod Charlie (30/1)

Conquering second place at the TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, Hot Rod Charlie joins the KDFW Week 2 list. He is an entry by Doug F. O’Neill and Tyler Gaffalione. Also, this horse’s sire is Oxbow and is owned by Strauss Bros Racing and Roadrunner Racing, Boat Racing, LLC.

Jackie’s Warrior (20/1)

Another colt that can stir up the list of Kentucky Derby hopefuls this year is Jackie’s Warrior. She is a filly, with Maclean’s Music as her sire. Also, Jackie’s Warrior is trained by Steven M. Asmussen and ridden by Joel Rosario. She already made huge accomplishments last year, including two titles from Runhappy Hopeful Stakes and Champagne Stakes. Lastly, she was a fourth-place finisher at the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.
